Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why fixforbid (Employer)?

The short answer to that is our platform brings the repair services to you.  In that, when you have a need, it’s up to you to contact services one by one, obtain a quote, and hope each other is willing to consider another’s offer.  Our goal is to engage Freelance services of all kinds and sizes to give you a wider range of options while giving you perspective on true market value of your needs.

Why fixforbid (Freelancer)?

Like fishing, you can cast your reel into the water and hope you get a nibble.  Use the best and most advanced bait out there, but there’s no guarantee there’s fish in your area and that they’ll bite.  We bring the fish to you.  Our platform hosts employers of all kinds with needs of all kinds.  Search for opportunities in their area, set your own rates and work at your own pace.  You work for you, we just give you the lake full of fish.

Who can sign up for fixforbid?

Anyone over the age of 18 can sign up as an ‘Employer‘ or ‘Freelancer.’  Create a profile for you as an individual, for your business or even for your employer (we suggest you have their approval first of course).

What does it mean to be an ‘Employer?’

An ‘Employer‘ can be a person or business with repair needs of any kind.  This means you are the person with repair needs seeking a Freelancer with an awesome profile for just the right price.

What does it mean to be a ‘Freelancer?’

A ‘Freelancer‘ means a person working 100% for themselves.  Create a profile for you as an individual, for your business or even for your employer (we suggest you have their approval first of course).  Search for opportunities in their area, set your own rates and work at your own pace.  You work for you, we just give you the leads.

Can I sign up my business?

Absolutely, sign up your business as an ‘Employer’ to service your repair needs.  Sign up your business as a ‘Freelancer’ to search for and build your client base.  I mean, isn’t that why you’re in business?

Can I sign up on behalf of my employer?

So long as your employer gives you the ‘Go ahead,’ absolutely!

I want to bid on a project but there’s no button?

In order to bid on a project, you’l need a ‘Freelancer’ profile, as only ‘Freelancers’ can bid on projects.  If you’d like to switch your profile from an ‘Employer’ to ‘Freelancer’ let us know via contact.us@fixforbid.com.  Otherwise, you have the option to create and maintain an ‘Employer’ and a ‘Freelancer’ profile.  Keep in mind different email addresses will be needed for each profile.

What kinds of repair services can I post for?

Just about anything.  We’re a little worried about the Category list getting too long, but in a world where they just don’t make things like they used to, we’ll you get the picture.

Is PayPal my only payment option?

Yes, we put a lot of time and energy in figuring out what’s the best way, and who to partner with in securing and protecting all parties involved when using our platform.  Who better to partner with than PayPal, is a trusted provider of payment services all over the world.  With our protection, money is only paid for work you authorize.

‘Workspace,’ what’s that for?

This area is just for the ‘Employer’ and ‘Freelancer,’ only each other has access here.  Have a conversation, exchange files as needed, in private.  This helps each other avoid having to share personal information they don’t want to.  The ‘Workspace’ keeps things documented and organized for you.

What if I want to dispute services?

We hope this doesn’t come up.  But if it does, space is reserved within the ‘Workspace’ to discuss just that.  We keep our distance throughout your experience, however, do review all disputes to assure a reasonable and fair resolution is achieved.

No one has bid on my project, what can I do?

You can browse freelancer profiles and invite them to bid on your project.  Share your project via social media.  When you do start to get bids, feel free to show a provider not using fixforbid what they’re missing out on.
